IT'S A BOY!!

We had our last ultrasound on Friday afternoon. We found out that it is a boy. His name will be Franklin Hadley Phillips IV, but we will call him Hadley. We saw him kicking and punching around in there, and now I know what I am feeling in my belly! He looks good and is right on track to be an average sized baby if I deliver near my due date (December 23). Hadley and I are both looking good and healthy!!

Second Trimester! Baby bump :)

I am officially into my second trimester (as of Wednesday, June 24) and I have been feeling a little less sick :) I've been to the doctor twice since my last post and all my tests have been healthy (I have lost a pound since I got pregnant, though - dr. says that is okay and that I will make it up later) :)

The best news - we get to have another ultrasound July 24 and we will know the sex of the baby! Chip and I really don't have a preference, but we both think it might be a girl. My mom had a dream it was a boy, so you never know! I guess it is fifty/fifty - I will just be so glad to stop referring to my baby as "it"!!
Here is a picture of my "bump"! Chip and I stayed in Sunset Beach for our 3rd anniversary and he took this at the hotel.

May 20, 2009 - First ultrasound, 9 weeks

Chip and I saw our adorable baby for the first time on ultrasound. Maybe it is just because I am mom, but I think this is the most beautiful 9 week in-utero baby ever. It is kind of hard to tell after making it digital, but the head is at the bottom. You can see the feet and hands on the hard copy. The baby waved its cute little hands at daddy; it was so sweet! This is more than worth the weeks of all-day "morning" sickness that I have had for the last few weeks! Most importantly, the doctor said that everything looks healthy and on track for both mom and baby.

Mother's Day, 2009

We told our moms and family this week. My mom was so happy she cried! We wanted to wait until the first trimester, but I have already had to tell my work (morning sickness during the swine-flu scare made everyone pretty nervous, so I had to come clean), and my neighbors figured it out, so we were happy to finally be able to share with our families!

Monday, April 20, 2009 - Doctor confirmed

I had made an appointment for Monday to get a doctor's note to wear athletic shoes to my part-time job Kohl's. I ended up getting a confirmation on my pregnancy and lots of good advice and congratulations. My neighbor was my nurse, and she got to give me the good news. It almost seemed too good to be true!
